After a sabbatical of years, Apres Match have returned with a plethora of challenging characters and at least 1 new joke.

The Dunphy Giles O'Herlihy and Chippy Show is the longest running TV show in history. In total 28 million words have been spoken from these collective gobs since 1978. 5000 matches have been viewed, and around 1 of them has been accurately predicted. And yet we crave more.
In fact it seems that the games only get in the way of the analysis - the World Cup would be just perfect if there was no football.

Everything is going well until Gilesy is turned GAA by the association's head of assimilation. Meanwhile Bill is banished and swiftly replaced with Pat Spillane.

To add to this panor-axis of evil the cosy cartel of Apres characters have been ruthlessly up-ended by such interlopers as Prime Time's Miriam O'Callaghan and the unfeasible Mark Little.

Gardening guys Dermot O'Neil and the other Dermot scatter their seeds, while there is also the world premiere of the River Tenors who 'Sing soccer songs for cash'.

With very little to do, Bill, Eamon and Frank must dream it all up again.

They re-invent themselves as the A Team and set off in hot pursuit of an RTÉ reporter with the express intention of giving him a smack with one of Gilesy's old socks. Golf make its first Apres outing - and maybe its last. We extracted the humour from a pool of mud, in the K club, with our very own Muck Hoover. And what a hoot it nearly is.

All in all, if this doesn't win a Golden Globe nomination I will not be surprised.
