MOOD SWING - CD~MOOD SWING~The songs range from light hearted Westren Swing, as in Mood Swing, to “hammer-and-tongs” bluegrass like When Tomorrow Comes, and hardcore traditional country as in Lonely Souls And Broken Hearts. Clem takes a Stanleyesque approach to Another's Name, and he nails a modern classic in his own, Play The Hand You’re Dealt. With Railroad Dreams, a train song written by Dick and Niall, there's a respectful nod to the music of Acuff and Cash. Bodel's Blues, a small guitar tune, is dedicated to a retired truck driver, and there’s a Carter-style song entitled The Promise. NTB have also re-cut Terenure Stomp, originally recorded on First Thrust back in 1973, and Clem sings lonesome on The Blues Overtook Me. Climbin’, by Niall and Allison Mellon, tells the story of a man with a broken heart who is determined to make his way back to normality, and Sadly Grows The Rose, by Niall and Sharon Vaughn is a haunting tale of a lady of the forest. With Fifteen original songs of lost love, coalmine disasters, broken hearts, old steam trains and mysterious mountain maids, there's something here to suit all tastes, and fans of acoustic stringed instruments are well catered-for.Clem and Dick and Niall did most of the instrumental playing on this CD.
