Some say The Lost Brothers sound like a ragged Everly Brothers.Others say they sound like The Lost Brothers.It is said that The Lost Brothers formed four years ago in the summer heat of Liverpool.It is also said that The Lost Brothers wrote a book of songs that autumn, and in the dead of winter they recorded the songs in an attic in Portland, Oregon.We know that The Lost Brothers released these songs on their debut album (trails of the lonely) to a heap of praise from the likes of NME,The Irish Times, Word magazine, Hot Press, and their fans (losties).Through the following year, The Lost Brothers have been spotted in person, performing at Glastonbury, Electric Picnic, Texas (SXSW), New York, Portland, Toronto, Paris, and a hop, skip and jump across the land of the UK and their beloved Ireland. In their journeys they have toured and played along with many, including Richard Hawley, M Ward, Jolie Holland, The Handsome Family, The Swell Season,Sam Amidan, Micah P Hinson, Richmond Fontaine, Brendan Benson, Jimmy Webb, Justine Townes Earle, Mountain Man among others.They have also performed on RTE’s Other Voices,France 24, and on the BBC Culture Show This year the band travelled to Nashville where they worked on new songs with Brendan Benson as producer. Some of Old Crow Medicine Show and the Cardinals lent a hand in the studio.They also caught the ear of the Barbara Orbison’s office where they recorded a song for the 75th Roy Orbison anniversary album.In June 2011 The Lost Brothers share the bill with Bob Dylan and Van Morrison at the London Feis.This year the Lost Brothers opened the Electric Picnic on the main stage.The band have just returned from a succesful US trip where they performed at Other Voices New York alongside Martha Wainright,Roddy Doyle and many others. In 2010 The Lost Brothers recorded in Sheffield with producer Colin Elliot with some of Richard Hawleys band lending a hand in the studio. This album was be released at the end of 2011 to and its title is So Long John Fante, it has received rave reviews and the band are set to heavily promote in early 2012.
