The Story of Michael Collins, the Easter Rising and Ireland's path to freedom on DVD plus unique memorabilia expertly recreated from original items.
Hang Up Your Brightest Colours & Achieving Freedom DVD:
Kenneth Griffith's moving documentary on the life and death of Michael Collins, 'Hang Up Your Brightest Colours', was originally judged to be too controversial for TV audiences. Told using Griffith's uniquely dramatic storytelling techniques, and banned from our screens for two decades, the film paints a vivid portrait of a man prepared to give everything he had for the sake of liberty and the concept of unity.
Featuring archive footage of Collins and his contemporaries, and visiting many authentic locations from Collins' life, the film is complemented by 'Achieving Freedom', a look back at Ireland's long path to independence. An important historic record for anyone interested in Ireland's past, these films are also powerful and heartfelt testaments to those men and women who risked their lives for their country.
